1962 Venezuelan Baseball #5, Sandy Koufax

Today's post originally profiled this 1962 Venezuelan set in detail. In 2011, I updated its entry as part of a complete series on cards from that baseball-loving country, with each new entry linked below.

It is amazing that the Venz. cards are so hard to come by these days. We hardly ever see them. I realize that there were few printed, but I can not help but think there has to be more of these in the country and that the people could sure use the money.

I agree, there are probably a bunch that families keep around like US folks have old stamp albums in the basement. It's a long flight to check for them, though! :-)

Hi, guys you're right, this 1962 set/cards, are very hard to get, Do you realize how unique is this set?. the only one with Spanish lettering.Glad that I hold my for all this years(lost 5 cards)and in very good condition if I compare with some cards I 've seen on e-bay, mine are gems, and I believe there are not too many in Venezuela, years ago some people flew overthere to buy cards and I guess after this many years will be really hard to find any in decent condition.

It's true, only a few people in the world will have a complete (or nearly complete) set at this point! That's quite an accomplishment.
